The main thing we offer, is a family friendly atmosphere where people of any denomination or no denomination affiliation can come together and enjoy an evening of fun, fellowship and entertainment. We are not a "church." This is not a "church service."
I mentioned on facebook about Rev Byars from Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, and his comments about his desire to see people from all denominations come together for prayer. People attending whatever "church" need to work together. Pastors from various "churches" need to work together. We (Christians) have fragmented ourselves and divided ourselves into groups by what differences we have in our belief, but we have allowed those differences to keep us from coming together on what we all do believe.
The CoffeeHouse at Christian Edge Dream Center is one of the few places where people can come together on a regular basis. But just like the Savage Mud Run attendance vs the attendance at the National Day of Prayer on May 2, (Mud run 6200 participants, National Day of Prayer, 200) the CoffeeHouse has seen a decline in participation over the years also. When we started the CoffeeHouse in 2004, it was open every Saturday night for 5 years and the average attendance each Saturday was 55. We stopped the CoffeeHouse because after 5 years, attendance dropped to around 15-20 per night. We opened the CoffeeHouse back up in February, 2012 meeting only on the 1st Friday night each month and the attendance has only reached 55 a couple times since then. Another pastor at the Nat. Day of Prayer prayed for local businesses and the need for us to support them so they are successful. How about Christians, churches, pastors, supporting Christian Edge Dream Center and the CoffeeHouse? This CoffeeHouse exists for you, we are a non profit organization so we don't make money from this event, it's there for your advantage. People who do come the the CoffeeHouse for the first time often say, "wow, I had no idea this place was so cool...it's the best kept secret in East Pasco County."
Please come out and enjoy an evening of fellowship, music, coffee, etc. and take advantage of this great opportunity to come together celebrate our "oneness" rather than allow our differences to keep us apart.
Tonight will feature Ben Hamar on guitar & vocal. Ben is a Christian misician & artist. He once played with a rock group back in the 60's called The Grasshoppers." His style of music today reflects that 60's feel. You'll enjoy it!
Bring a copy of this facebook post and receive a coupon for a free Specialty Coffee or Smoothie drink of your choice. Come join the fun tonight from 7-10pm. We are located on the corner of US 301 and SR 575, 7 miles north of downtown Dade City. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go cut the grass at the Christian Edge (before it rains) so it will look nice for you when you get there tonight!
